Jelly bras: soft support without wires

A jelly bra is a seamless, wire-free bra with soft gel-like strips under the cups that give gentle lift. It is popular for comfort, but the sizing works differently from UK bra sizes.

A jelly bra is a seamless, wire-free bra with soft gel-like strips sewn under the cups. The strips flex like a gentle underwire, giving light lift and shape without anything rigid digging in. Jelly bras are usually sold in S to XXL rather than UK band and cup sizes.

How jelly bras work

The “jelly” is a flexible strip, often silicone or TPU, that follows the curve under each breast. Combined with a knitted, stretchy body and often removable pads, it gives a rounded shape that is smoother than a basic crop top and softer than an underwire.

Good, affordable picks on Amazon UK

We chose these for strong reviews from many Amazon UK shoppers and a price below most similar listings when we checked in October 2026. We have not tested them ourselves. Check your size, today’s price and the returns policy before you buy.

Who suits a jelly bra?

  • A to D cups looking for comfortable everyday or lounge wear.
  • Anyone who finds wires uncomfortable.
  • Travel, working from home and long days on your feet.

For more structure without wires, compare a non-wired bra with good support. For no shape at all, a seamless bra is lighter still.

Sizing a jelly bra

Because they are sold in letter sizes, the fit depends on the seller’s chart. Measure first: our bra size calculator gives a UK starting size in under a minute. Then:

  1. Find your band on the chart and choose that letter size.
  2. Check the chart’s cup range for that letter includes your cup.
  3. If your band and cup point to different letters, go with the band.

The band should feel snug and stay level. If the gel strip sits on breast tissue instead of under it, the size is too small.

  1. 1

Jelly bra with a deep underband

A wider band and gel strip under each cup give the most hold of the jelly styles.

  2. 2

    Jelly bra with removable pads

Thin pads add shape and modesty under T-shirts and come out for washing.

  3. 3

    Plus size jelly bra

Wider straps and bigger sizing for fuller busts that want wire-free comfort.

Care

Hand wash or use a mesh bag on a cool cycle and dry flat. Heat can warp the gel strips and weaken the stretch knit, so never tumble dry.

Questions people ask

What is a jelly bra?
A jelly bra is a seamless, non-wired bra with soft, flexible gel-like strips sewn under the cups to give gentle support in place of an underwire.
What size jelly bra should I buy?
Jelly bras are usually sized S to XXL. Find your UK band and cup with our bra size calculator, then match them on the seller’s chart. Choose by band if the two point to different sizes.
Are jelly bras good for big busts?
They give light to medium support. Fuller busts may find a non-wired bra sold in cup sizes holds better all day.
